EIC holds workshop on "The Impact of Innovative Contract Models"

EIC held a successful workshop on "The Impact of Innovative Contract Models on the Planning and Execution of Large and Complex Projects" at its Spring General Assembly in Belfast on April 11.

A distinguished panel with representatives of British contractors Lagan Construction and Costain, international law firms Pinsent Masons and Atkin Chambers, international construction consultants AECOM as well as FIDIC, NEC and Northern Ireland's Department for Regional Development discussed both benefits and risks when employing collaborative construction business relationships, such as Partnering & Alliancing schemes as well as Early Contractor Involvement, and contrasted different contract models such as FIDIC's Rainbow Suite and the NEC3 Form.

All speakers engaged in lively discussions with the conference participants moderated by Lagan Chief Executive Colin Loughran and Pinsent Masons partner Mark Roe.
