EIC 2014 Annual Report

EIC published its latest Annual Report as part of the FIEC Report 2014, with information on the federation's key activities in the past year.

These included a number of meetings with FIDIC's Updates Task Force to discuss proposals for the new edition of the "Yellow Book" concerning the Scope of Works, Employer's Requirements as well as the Fitness for Purpose Obligation, the Programme and the Employer's Personnel.

In September, EIC President Astaldi also held a keynote speech at FIDIC'S Centenary conference on global infrastructure needs and how to manage these future challenges. He also

EIC also continued to lobby for its proposal for an EU Infrastructure Blending Instrument for Africa and met with representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Development and Cooperation (DG DEVCO) to discuss this. EIC also took part in the European Development Days and the 5th EU Africa Business Forum.

In the global debate on future development policies EIC represented the European construction industry and contributed actively to the Development Task Force established by the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the OECD.

Regarding the World Bank's ongoing procurement policy review EIC joined forces with CICA and FIDIC in a Joint Position Paper to call upon the World Bank to continue applying its Procurement Guidelines and Standard Bidding Documents for Consultant and Works for large and complex projects.

EIC also held two very successful General Assemblies in Helsinki and Seville with Workshops on "Risk Management in International Projects - Tools for Contractors" and "Global Trends in PPP and Project Finance Markets"
