Since August 2021, Jean-Serge is in charge of Public Affairs and Business Development for the EQUANS group, a newly created world leader in the energy services sector.

EQUANS is the outcome of a major spin-off of 800 entities from ENGIE and constitutes today (after a recent sale process) the biggest division of the BOUYGUES group (that now owns 100% of the company) with annual revenues of € 18 billion and more than 90.000 employees. EQUANS is well established in 20 countries and active in more than 50.

Previously (2016 – 2021) Jean-Serge was Business Development Director for VINCI Construction after having been in charge for more than a decade of the international development of VINCI Concessions. Before VINCI, Jean-Serge worked at Bouygues’ as a financial officer after having first started his career at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, UK.

He graduated from the London School of Economics and holds several Law degrees from the University of Paris.

Benoît Chauvin

Mr Chauvin is a graduate of the ESTP and ENSPM Engineering Schools. He began his career in 1984 in the oil construction sector at Bouygues Offshore. He held several international management positions, first in overseeing offshore installation projects, then in managing major turnkey projects.

In 1998, he moved into an executive management role, overseeing functional entities in fields such as engineering, in particular as CEO of SOFRESID.

In 2012, he joined Colas as CEO of its energy subsidiary, SPAC, and then four years later was appointed Deputy Managing Director in charge of Africa. In 2018, he became head of the newly created Business Development entity within International Executive Management (excluding the Americas), and in 2020 he was appointed head of the Colas Group’s Business Development Department.

Thomas Dalsgaard

Connecting Offshore Wind to the Energy System: The Role of Energy Islands in Future Energy Systems

Thomas Dalsgaard, Partner, based in Copenhagen, is responsible for Advanced Biofuel Fund and Energy Island Platform. Mr. Dalsgaard has more than 15 years of experience within large scale renewable energy infrastructure projects. 

In addition, he is Chairman of the Board for Dansk Retursystem and Deputy Chairman of Evida.

Prior to joining CIP, Mr. Dalsgaard held the position of Executive Vice President and CEO of the Thermal Power Business Unit in Ørsted.

He has been Head of Division with the Ministry of Finance and he also started his career as Special Advisor for the Ministry of Finance. He was also positioned in Paris as Senior Economist for OECD.  Mr. Dalsgaard holds a Master Degree in Economics from Aarhus University.

Anne-Marie Friel

Anne-Marie is a partner from global law firm Pinsent Masons who is one of the UK’s Leading Individuals for Infrastructure (Legal500 ranking 2022). She is expert in collaborative and progressive contracting models and contractual joint ventures.

She is specialized in looking at the impact of digital in the built environment and, since 2022, has led the UK Digital Twin Hub’s  “Governance and Trust” working group.

She is a steering group member of the UK Net Zero Infrastructure Industry Coalition and in 2022, through that coalition, led the production of award-winning guidance to infrastructure companies on making climate related financial disclosures.

Marcel Galjee

Developing the Hydrogen Economy Trends & Dilemmas in scaling up Use and Production of Hydrogen

Marcel Galjee presides as Managing Director HyCC (the Hyrogen Chemistry Company). HyCC is an industrial partner for safe and reliable green hydrogen supplies and circular chemistry solutions to enable the transition to zero-emission industries. The joint venture of Macquarie´s Green Investment Group and electrochemical company Nobian is based on more than 100 years of experience in elctrolysis and leadership in safety.

Prior to his present role, Marcel worked as Vice-President Energy & New Business for Nouryon and AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals, as an international consultant and OwC and in various energy related functions at Vattenfall Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands. 

 

Jonathan Holslag

Professor International Politics // Free University of Brussels

The geopolitics of the global energy transition

Jonathan Holslag is a professor of international politics at the Free University of Brussels, where he teaches diplomatic history and international politics. His main areas of interest are geopolitics, Eurasian affairs, and economic power politics. He also lectures on geopolitics at various defense academies in Europe and the NATO Defense College.

Besides his academic work, he has been advising most of the European institutions, several governments and international organisations. He also advises Fortune Global 500 companies on their Asia strategy and is a frequent speaker at internal briefings at board and high executive level.

He was invited as a guest lecturer to various universities, including the Central Party School of China, the Harvard Kennedy School, and Sciences Po, Paris. Prominent in his work is the call for more realism among European countries in approaching world politics and the Asian powers like China.

Lara Muller

Lara is at Invest International responsible for developing, financing, and overseeing the implementation of large infrastructural projects in developing countries with a focus on green infra development.

She previously worked as Head of Public Affairs at Boskalis where she also was appointed as permanent member of the EU’s Platform on Sustainable Finance. This platform advises the European Commission on taxonomy regulation and the Sustainable Finance strategy of the EU.

Before her role at Boskalis, she was Group Sustainability Director at Corio NV, a listed property developer. As an entrepreneur, she co-created and led a platform on Health and Wellbeing, the Blue Building Institute, and was business owner at Onimpact, an ESG advisory firm.

She teaches Creating Shared Value and Sustainable Finance at Nijenrode Business School. Lara studied Strategy at Harvard and went to Law School at Leiden University.

Bram Smeets

Partner // McKinsey Amsterdam

Long term energy outlook and challenges to an orderly energy transition

Bram is a leader in McKinsey’s Energy and Materials Practice and works on energy transition and decarbonization strategies. He brings deep expertise in developing energy outlooks and shaping strategies for establishing a more sustainable energy sector.

Bram is also a lead author of McKinsey's annual Global Energy Perspective report and advises leaders in the private and public sectors as they navigate the rapid shifts in the energy landscape. Bram works with a broad range of clients, including energy majors, investors, national governments and technology start- and scale-ups.

He holds a Ph.D. in energy economics and a M.Sc. in Econometrics.

Anicet Touré

Head of Nuclear Strategy, Innovation & Business Development // Tractebel

The Role of Small Modular Reactors in Future Energy Systems

Anicet Touré is a passionate engineer, with a master degree in nuclear engineering, driven by creating solutions to decarbonize the whole economy. He joined Belgium-headquartered engineering company Tractebel in 2015 where he has worked as a design engineer and technical integrator on the Belgian nuclear lifetime extension program and on new Nuclear technology assessment. In 2019, Anicet took on the function of Product Director for Small Modular Reactors(SMR), where he managed SMR-related projects, innovation, strategy, and business development activities, with a strong focus on focus on decarbonizing the industry beyond electricity generation. In September 2022, he was appointed as Head of Nuclear Strategy, Innovation, Business Development and Communication for Tractebel. Most recently, Anicet was selected as part of the 2023 Cohort of the Belgium’s 40 under 40 programme.

Wouter van Noort

Wouter van Noort is Managing Director Europe at Mammoet and has been in this role since 2018. Before his present position he was Managing Director for the BeNeLux region, as well as Board Member Europe for eight years (2010-2017) after having been Director Cranes BeNeLux (2004-2010) and Manager Operations Netherlands (2001-2004).

Wouter started his long career at Mammoet in 1995 in Operations, before becoming Branch Manager Rotterdam in 1999.
